Bluetit activity around the nest box this morning it is a returning visit so Had bluetits in there the first year it was up; last year, it was bees! Really hoping it will be the turn of the bluetits this year again.

Yes, our suet balls are the same thing and the ones I bought were a pretty bell shape. Interesting.I won't buy them again because they only lasted one night. I'm guessing the raccoons had a greasy feed.

I've lived in this house for over 30 years but only started seeing foxes recently. And then generally as a quick glimpse as they crossed the garden. It's since I started putting calci-worms out for the birds that this fox has found my garden worth lingering in. I always used to have badgers, but...

Excellent shots HsuH, no Blackcaps here unfortunately, from what I have read, the ones wintering here are from Scandinavia and Eastern Europe and are not the same ones that breed here in the summer.

We live on the edge of fields with a nearby wood and get visits from merlins, peregrine falcons and sparrowhawks. They mainly catch pigeons.. three years ago I was apinting my garage doors, heard a large thump and turned round to see a sparrowhawk has banged into the doors - complete with pigeon...

Yes, if I bought it in 5kg tubs from Amazon it would work out cheaper than 1kg tubs from B&Q on 15% off weekends, but I only use 1kg p.a. so it would be 45 months (a few more if bought @ 20% off) before I'd be into profit and I'd have to keep that big tub dry and in a metal bin all that time,...

My issue is the Starlings---they attack my suet cakes scaring the little birds away. All I need to do is step out on my deck and they fly away. But they eat those cakes up like crazy. Took this video few falls ago. sometime gatherings are larger ---they usually get up to the farmers field...
