It is indeed a sedum. divided many times over the years. Not a great many butterflies this year, small coppers, speckled wood, red admiral, peacocks, tortoiseshell and the ubiquitous cabbage white are the only species I have had in the garden.Thanks all for the comments.

Robins have a reputation for their 'bullish' behaviour.They love mealworms and lots of attention.Love Robins. This is the right time of the year for them to be about.They sing all day and all night.No other birds are allowed in the garden with a robin.They are fiesty little birds BG

I think it was more likely that it realised a size 10½ walking boot was about to tread on it.
