I've spotted an adult kite a few times now around stoke on trent. (Hanchurch to be precise near junction 15 M6) A friend of mine lives in High Wycombe and they are flooded with 'em

Don't see it mentioned above, but try Geum. The bees seem to love it.

Can't say for sure as the four native Iberian 'wall' Lizards do look fairly similar and all are variable. It was possibly the Iberian Wall Lizard (Podarcis Hispanica) or the Large Psammodromus ( Psammodromus Hispanica). Never be without your camera.:D

So far we've had no problems, except that they make a bit of a row at night (although rather less than some of the human inhabitants) and the garden sometimes carries an unmistakeable whiff of Eau de Renaud. Sorry to hear about your vege patch, JWK. There was a complaint on another thread...

I loved them all Miraflores but I specially liked the Antsel and Gretel Chalet. I might get around to making something like that as the bugs don't use the little bug hotel I have. Maybe it's not posh enough for them.:wink:

We are lucky enough to have three goldfinches visiting the nijer seed feeder in our garden, put the feeder out 18 mths ago and had nothing other than rotting seed for about a year that changed about December time when two became regular visitors and now there are three. See them as early as 5 am...

They sleep and mate on the wing, a newly fledged Swift will not land for at least a year that includes the (non BA) flight to sub Sahara and back! They also mate and sleep on the wing. The only bird that can catch them is the Hobby. An incredible bird, a great shame they are declinig rapidly in...
