There not been any sitings (or hearings:D) of Cuckoos here this Spring which is surprising a the wetland reserve here is teeming with Reed and Sedge Warblers, two of the Cuckoo's main hosts.

The stags at Knole are scary!!!

because they nest on the ground and there protected by law, they allso get paid to protect a plant called cowslip

Generally well into May in Cumbria/S.W. Scotland area when they are heard .

Hundreds of Swallows coming in off the sea today at Portland Bill and overhead at work, great to see them.

I dont mind squirrels eating my bird food tbh.

just looked in my pond and i have tiny tadpoles. spawn was only laid 2 week ago. i've never known it develop that quick before but i guess it's because it was laid so late, about 3 weeks later than usual.what happens if we get really cold nights now? will it survive?

Oh yes... just before sunrise when its still dark.. hundreds of them some days.

Normally in small groups but sometimes in pairs, they never stay long in one place.

I saw his missus this avo maybe they'll be breeding nearby this year? I live opposite a farm just off a main road, about 4+ miles from any reeds, so either they've bred well and are spreading, or they're damn hungry!!

Same here Redstar, the rest of the herds all around are regular colours & markings.. Or is it some kind of gene failure with these particular ones.? Intriguing..
