You're right Hyla - they only pinch the food on the flat surface but nothing is going for the nut feeder anyway.The wind is so strong lately that the food is all over the garden anyway!! Oh, and I'm launching the onslaught on the overgrown bits so I'll probably frighten them all off!!

Nice to see one walking along the road for once, rather than bursting out of one hedge straight in front of you! They do that all too often, in my experience, particularly when I was driving along the roads near Chipping Norton and Kingham!

I love frittileries too, though only have the snakeshead now (others died off after flowering). They willlook lovely in your wild grass border - shame only one came up, though as Waco says, they do well from seed.

The Aussies are dedicated to killing these toads they are monsters ,they usually aim their trucks at them they look like frisbees all over the roads,apart from eating everything that moves the big fear is they get in the rivers were they would be eaten by the freshwater crocodiles...

thanks for your help. She didn't come back unfortunately (and I picked up a few more aphids) but I'm sure she was just busy with other things. Its nice to think summer's nearly here.
