Wonder if Ozzy's scent in the garden would act as a deterrent? I suppose I won't know unless I try. Actually, for that reason, now probably would be a good time to try because I have relatively bare borders so any damage would be very limited.

Unless you have a dog . I moved two clematis a week or so ago . I just put BFB at the bottom of the planting hole and mixed it in , then a bit of gromore around the top . Now too Molly this was like two buried mixed grills - she dug both clematis up ! So no BFB or farmyard manure at the back of the house , I'll just stick with Gromore.

Edit - you have Ozzy , presume a dog not a husband ?

 

I have no problems using BF&B at my edge of village plot where the adjoining farmers encourage Foxes.

But if I bury a Chicken there, I need to dig deep, cover with heavy masonry/concrete, then cover again with pegged down mesh.

 

Better than any husband Harry (although I have one of those as well )

 

As to FBB, I think now would be a good time to add it.
Organic fertilisers need a while to get going as opposed to something like growmore which is short lived and almost instant.

I added some to the beds along with chicken manure last week in preparation for the garlic to go in and other stuff in spring.

Added some to some young trees last year and some hairy creature dug it up for a feed overnight,trees replanted so no problem.

Ooh.. I just put it in when planting something new and fed with soluble miracle grow when I thought it needed it. Maybe I need to start chucking it about? Do cats dig up bfb?

No worries, just tried putting a bit in my hand and one didn't flinch, so only the other 2 to try!
