I have had a wee potter in the garden today (finally got a couple of hours to myself), and mostly cut the grass; everything is springing into life which is nice to see, including my raspberries which are getting quite enthusiastic it seems.

Quite a few suckers have appeared, which are more than welcome to be fair - the more the merrier really, however I have a couple that have popped up in an area covered with slate shale, and a few that have popped up in the lawn.

Now, whilst I want to have as many raspberry canes as possible, I don't want them where they are - - what are my chances of lifting and transplanting them without killing them?

About 99% success in my experience, but a bit less than that if left until hot summer weather, I try and get as much root attached as possible, plus I put them in large pots to get established before planting out in beds.

I am looking at doing it in the next week or so, so that should hopefully avoid the really hot weather.

      Thanks @Scrungee :blue thumb:

I can dig up some of my Raspberry 'escapees' in the next couple of days to give you an idea what to expect.

Hmmm... there may be a flaw in my logic @pete

I have just made the mistake of reading The Mail and it says we are going to be 'sizzling' by next weekend.
