This tree is growing in the church flower bed. It has the look of a bird sowing, but want to check before removing...
    It is about 6' high

And confirmation that this is a Sycamore, to the left of the Acer IMG_20160511_190838963.jpg
    And again leaf close up

Thanks @Silver surfer ! At home I would have been positive about the sycamore, and would have cut it out over a year ago (when I first noticed it). But it's always different when it's on someone else's land, isn't it?

I can see that the photos of the first tree are not so clear. I will take some more when I go next. But to me the leaves look half-way between an oak (standard, not American) and a sycamore...

The 2 lobes at the leaf tip of the first one suggest field maple, but the leaves look far to big for that :noidea:

          We did

Recon it might be a seedling from a field maple crossed with something that fancied a field maple :heehee:

I always try to find a clear link to illustrate my answers.
It just so happened both links were from Hainault forest.
            Never been there!

Quote wiki...."Hainault Forest Country Park is located in Greater London, with portions in: Hainault in the London Borough of Redbridge; the London Borough of Havering; and in the Lambourne parish of the Epping Forest District in Essex."

Seems to be an accurate clear site...
