It's all over the hedge on the side maintained by neighbours!

Highly poisonous and grows like beejayzus! It grows from a tuber.

        Oh. bugger.

The neighbours are actually a school so have let them know asap. It's covered one side in not even one season!

        Thanks for the ID

Wasn't there last year (I try to make sure they're not completely abusing the hedge!) but it did have a good trim and topping over winter so more light I guess

... and it's like a great big turnip, very difficult to dig out amongst a hedge.

Or a gift from the birds who are quite partial to the berries. Yours is the ideal location for it and you need to get on top of it fast.

The school has passed on my email to their business manager. When did schools get business managers?!

If it's a religious school, let them know it's also known as Devil's Turnips :stirpot::heehee:

Just get some roundup and do a weekly precision assault on it. But just don't get spotted, then if you accidentally also catch the hedge, you have plausible deniability.

Roundup shouldn't touch the hedge

They got back to me PDQ (amazing how fast they can act when you mention poison and children) and are getting a contractor to sort it.
