Couldn't she find another job instead of relocating to another Country? :dunno:

She shouldn't have to do either, "M". As an ex-Manager I would have put at least a "flea" in the ear of the person who had told her to go home because that is bullying, at the very least, and you and i would not have stood for that if we had be subjected to that.:dunno::snork:

        Totally agree with you!
However, the OP was stating that as a result of this confrontation, the lass is looking to return to Poland and taking her partner (the OP's son) with her. I suggested moving job as a compromise so that this episode doesn't impact on a whole family as a consequence. If the comments have had the effect of leaving her feeling "scared" (as stated) then, even with the best management team in the world, she will take time to recover her confidence if she remains in that employment. The affects of bullying can run deep.

Well, I would think that, as you say, bullying is able to run deep and that she would have no confidence in not meeting the same result in another job. It's a great shame that numbskull work bullies are allowed to vent their spleen on other people who are probably doing a better job of work than they are. :dunno::snorky:

First of all, the person that told your future daughter in law to go home, does not speak for the majority.

And they should now be facing formal disciplinary proceedings for bullying. Or she could just punch the person right in the face.

I have several friends that come from various parts of Europe. I hope they don't feel the need to leave. Mind you, I know most of them through our martial arts class, so perhaps they might be harder to intimidate.

I think if you go and work in any country you would need to prepared for the odd comment, it goes on all around the world.
Example, people from the UK that went to OZ have to be prepared for that kind of thing.

Blimey what is the matter with people?

Which ones, pete? The ones who partake of the bullying, or the ones who are affected by it? ;)

Well, pete, we Humans are biased, fearful of change and difference, and will go to War on that basis.:dunno:

To a degree, yes, pete, but immigrants of any country working in the UK are more susceptible to the scourge of racist bullying. So perhaps shrugging our shoulders at the "odd comment" is not acceptable anymore, especially as the "odd comment" is a personal attack on a vulnerable worker who is just wanting to work in peace and security. I'll be honest, I have in the past on finding out such bullying either put the offender on a final warning and asked for an apology to the other person, or depending on the severity of the bullying showed the bully "the door".:dunno::snorky:

Not just if you go to a different country.

I worked in Hampshire for a while. I was a computer programmer at a logistics company. One day, in the mess room, one of the wagon drivers had a go at me in front of his mates. He used the classic line about coming down ere and taking our jobs when a local could do it. He was all smug until I replied quite calmly, 'no, a local could not do my job, if a local could do my job do you think your boss would have paid for me to come 300 miles to do it?

He didn't give me any bother after that. He did apparently tell everyone he was going to beat me up when he next saw me, but he knew where to find me and had plenty of opportunities to have a go, but didn't.

That's because someone read his tea leaves and foresaw you becoming a martial arts expert and he ... bricked it :heehee:

I tend to think regarding "racism", which it aint, call it xenophobia if you want to, but it aint racism.
You will find the UK is one the most accommodating countries in the world.

Which is one of the reasons everyone wants to come here.

This is both my nightmare and prediction....there will be an early election called...UKIP will win enough votes to form a coalition government with the Tory party.
