It's been like that for years, Kimberley. Admin keeps the office funds in the Biscuit Tin along with the HobNobs.:dunno::heehee:

          Hi Shiney,

I bank with Loyds and you don't have to leave any money in to keep your account open.
I've got an account that's been unused for about twenty years . They just send me a statement once a year saying " balance £0.00, money in £0.00 money out £0.00 ".
They've never asked me to close it or anything.

I tend to do some negotiating with my bank. I, recently, had six dormant accounts (transferred funds to a new accounts when the new ones seemed better) and did it again a few months ago (all done by phone). They asked me to close the accounts to save them admin costs. So I said "How much will you pay me to close all six of them now?". We finally agreed on a 'goodwill' payment of £25 :blue thumb:

          Don't ask, don't get!!!

            Minor moan really.

Meet Monty and Milly, the two latest additions to the Trunky household. Yes I know, cute aren't they?

We've had a few kittens over the years, so we know the routine. They'll be allowed outside when they're a bit older, but we've only had them for a couple of weeks, so for the time being they stay indoors, with plenty of food & drink and their litter tray in the kitchen.

Already, they've settled into the same routine as every other kitten we've had in the past.
            This is what happens.

As soon as I sit down to eat, or even just begin to prepare food or a snack, one of them (or sometimes both) will decide at that very instant that it's time to use the litter tray. Happens every time.

This of course is immediately followed by an odour which renders the kitchen virtually uninhabitable for the next ten minutes and makes eating a less than pleasurable experience.

Just what the hell is it about the sight of me eating that never fails to stimulate a cat's bowels?
            :gaah:

My cats, especially Sally, do the same, Trunky, and while you have been polite and called it an odour the hard truth is it's a stench that will clear the House:hate-shocked:. Even the fact that when I'm in the House the Kitchen door to the garden is open so the cats can come and go doesn't help a jot. If I see Sally heading for the Cat Litter I retreat to the Garden or the Observatory.:cat-kittyandsmiley:

The continuing saga of the water leak:-

(Brief recap after one month of digging - four holes in the road, neatly tarmacked over, cut through the gas main once and the electric twice, water leaking faster than before)

I was away last week but before I went their customer services department, who are very good at updating me, told me that they would be back to start again on Sunday 4th. They didn't make it then and, according to the phone message from customer services, they came on Wednesday, dug up the road again but couldn't find the leak

If you look at this picture the investigation team had marked clearly where it should be dug up. They painted a white square around the area and wrote the word 'leak'.

                        P1300346.JPG

That should have been sufficient for them, but no :wallbanging:. They dug it elsewhere!!! (Just like the song :snork:)

                        P1300389.JPG

They now have to get another inspector out to decide where to dig, get another permit from the Council (the fourth one as the other permits keep running out of time and they keep having to fill the road in again without having fixed the problem)!!! :rolleyespink: :mute:

It would be funny if it were not for the fact all these costs will be reflected in the various price increases in billing!! :rrant:

My experience of water companies is they are a complete bunch of amateurs, have they brought out the divining rods yet.
The bloke who came to fix my leak was wandering around totally confused with two bent pieces of coat hanger.
Sufficient to say he dug holes in all the wrong places, four of them.

You see its us, we dont know about these things, just because there is a damp spot on a dry day, its not that easy.:snorky:
