Oh, I don't know, I think it counterpoints the surrealism of the setting :)

I'll go back when the sun is out to get a pic of the views.

Note how effective the GC swear filter is by censoring the signpost in the first picture :heehee:

No @ARMANDII, you're not an eyesore but a sight for sore eyes. ;)

Aw that is cute, is it not classed as a chapel being that small?

The stained glass is very quirky too.. I like it!

Those mounds.. :yikes: I want my dead body crushed into fertilizer for plants. Why don't we do that? Land is becoming a precious commodity and deceased humans could be put to better use

Soil is thin and flinty there, guess it doesn't settle very well.

I'm having mine dressed in a Superman outfit then dropped out of an airplane :)

Doesn't make my tummy feel very settled either :cry3: All those flowers and herbs that could be sprouting from the nutrients would make a pretty scene but instead the land of rest just says one thing..Here we lie and we are DEAD. If every church grew their deceased into flora instead... oh what a pretty place they would be.

Now now.. :nonofinger: think of the flora and the birds you might squash!!!

Human bodies are put to good use after death. Find any cemetery that is not so well maintained and see how brambles thrive there. Often faster growing tree species too. Basically plant species that can send feeder roots down as far as 6ft or more thrive in cemeteries. They're not feeding much off the low quality subsoil. I personally think it's a beautiful thing when you see a tree that is clearly feeding from an old grave. In a very real and indisputable way, it's proof that life follows death just as much as death follows life. In that scenario, the tree is partly the person in the grave, and it's not only alive, but is helping to support other life too. Everything is actually just one thing.

You must remember @FloraPie that most of the graves in that churchyard are hundreds of years old way before the time of crematoriums.

When I worked as a monumental mason in Wales I spent the day in a graveyard re guilding a headstone in situ.

At mid day the sun was making the stone too hot to apply the rabit skin size which glues the gold leaf on so I picked a bag of blackberries that were growing on the graves.

Back at the quarry I shared them out with the girls in the shop, they said they were lovely and asked where i'd got them.

Strangely enough they all stopped chewing when I told them :heehee:
