Sounds like the doctor from the Fall and Rise of Reginald Perin. He had the same answer for everything.

"I've had that too. I wonder what it could be. Take 2 aspirin and come back tomorrow."

Reminder to some---I have been in the medical field for the past 40+ years. so certain responses from doctors I expect to hear.

This same doctor, that prescribed me the horrid Vit. D 2. He asked me this question-----Anyone in your family recently come down with a new diagnoses or is sick from something? my response was----Nope, they are all dead. His responds was-----"Oh, I am sorry". And I waited till he asked anything else, nope.

So anyone of any brains, knows the correct responds from him should have been "What did they die from? "

this should have been in the moan section, I guess. but anyway, it follows suite.

Thanks for sharing @redstar ,what an experience!!
I don't think I have vit.D problem.....I know that I do lack calcium and was issued with tablets to take( 3yrs ago) but never did, instead I try and incorporate more calcium rich foods in my diet .......think it's working:blue thumb:

the information was only given as @Kandy spurred the memory about her issue. It also is a pretty common issue for many, so felt it was important to share BTW, no health food store sells the man made Vit D2 . that tells you something. @Upsydaisy
There actually is a chart online that lists out what tests a women should take through the years to keep on top of changes. Like for instance the DEX SCAN, tells about condition of your bones. And that spurs another story from me:

Five years ago, I went and had a DEX SCAN done. the outcome was all my bones were perfect except that my lower spine was (POINT) .0001 off the norm. that is a hair off the norm. My doctor want to start me on Fosamax, I told him , NO, I would up my dietary intake. And giving me Fosamax has so many side effects, and for the little off it was, it would be like me taking a ball bat to a pearl. OK fast forward, Last year---had another DEX SCAN done this this time by my Rhumanologist . So when done, she said, oh your perfect. you don't need anything. Nothing will happen for the next 15 years she said. Funny how the first one wanted me on something, and the second did not. Another reason I left him.

Yes, I would be careful @Upsydaisy on intake of Calcium, there are studies out there showing that you can take too much. Good your using diet instead.

Thanks @redstar , despite what Drs say I always do a little research first :blue thumb: I have Osteopedia in my spine and was told to take Calcium as I don't include ( dislike it)much dairy foods in my diet....but with my research I found loads of Calcium enriched foods that weren't dairy.....so no tablets required:dbgrtmb:
Glad to hear that your'e doing OK:)

@redstar when I was diagnosed with VitamanD problems I was prescribed VitaminD3 tablets and had to take 3,000 IU (International Units) a day and was supposed to be tested twelve weeks later but I missed that bit on the letter that the hospital sent me and so did the Dr miss it on the exact same copy of the letter that I had received from the hospital so I kept taking them at the time because I have had at least six toes breakages from stubbing my toes which most people wouldn’t have a problem with.I stopped taking them after the new Pharmacist in our village said that if you take too much Vitamin D then it can do more harm than good.I hadn’t even been told to up my Calcium intake either and years ago after my second toe breakage I asked for one of those Dexa bones scans but they wouldn’t let me have one as the test comes out of the Dr’s budget and he doesn’t like spending money as he owns the practise:sad:

It wasn’t until I found the letter and re read it that I saw that I should have been retested to see how the levels were doing. I then brought it up with the nurse practitioner so she had me retested and my levels nine months ago was up to 90 which she said was ok and I think it only went up to that level because I am able to get out into the sun more so she said to have my levels retested this Autumn which I did but the results came back as a bone profile whatever that means so I just told the nurse to ring me when they get the proper results if it is bad news. I need good bones because I am going to have major foot surgery done at some point so need to have reasonably healthy bones for healing, although I expect that now we are getting near to the winter months my levels might go down again:sad:

Sorry to hear your Doctor is a bit of a jerk but that sort of thing seems common place in lots of countries but at least you are able to stand up to yours. If I argued with ours he would probably chuck me out of the practise:biggrin:

@Kandy , as I am one to second guess doctors. for your own information, look up Vit D toxicity. and read that. Vit D is a fat soluble vitamin, which means the extra is stored in the fat of the body. So, yes build up can occur. If you look it up, it can give you ranges of dose to keep at a normal level. You should also know what the normal level is, so that should be there. I get get all lab work sent to a personal site, so I am on it way before the doctor reviews it, and checking etc. So I have no surprises, and he can't talk me into anything, I am not willing to do. Yes, you should go and get your Vit D level retested. If you google the question, "low Vit D level" it does effect things in your body. So it is best to stay in the normal range.

Thats what I do for a living, or part of my job. when my patients have to go to the hospital, i am right there. Doctors don't get away with stuff that is wrong on my watch. Was a case manger in a hospital for years, loved that job. My mind worked hard, but loved it. Loved working with the docs and nurses. So, used to some docs who think their God, and putting them in their place, professionally. when I left the Medical Director of the hospital called me up asking me to stay, I was so tired of the commute which was one hour one way, that I had to do something. He understood. Had I not owned a nice house, with the gardens etc. and married. I might have moved. but that is not 20 years ago. Time goes.

What is worse, now that I think about it, his other patients don't know better, and they just keep going to him.

Took a car load of pressed apple pulp to composters at the plot, then collected 3 car loads of wood/logs from somebody who's moving and needs to get rid of it all, pasteurised all the juice I pressed yesterday, cracked a method to obtain unlimited free pizzas (will need to sort out freezers tomorrow), rinsed and dried my last saved tomato seeds, and sorted a load of bottled apple juice out ready for turning into 12 galls of cider and 6 galls of apple wine.

A typical day for this time of year.

Ahh, Monday, just office stuff, paper shuffling, reports organized. Tuesday, to some mini meetings and more oversight of documentations. beautiful weather out here, love my drives between sites. can find a interesting lunch stop also.

Put up a traffic mirror. Fixed it to the telephone pole across the road. Didn't ask permission from BT. They might spot it on their next inspection - last inspection was in 1976 :snorky:
