Just came back from the states. My cousin ordered a Starbucks latte and then discovered she had no US cash with her - cost me $4.27USD :yikes:

If I'm organised and I know I'm going to be out a long time I take a flask of coffee with me. I always take a flask on airport journeys.

In between jobs, unless I have personal errands to run, I go home.

There are times when I have to decide whether its worth using up fuel for the sake of a few minutes at home.

This is a particular problem with hospital appointments. I do a good few of these. There is no way of knowing how long these will take so I try to stay as close as possible. My default layover is either Sainsbury or Dobbies. Whichever I choose I can take the opportunity to eat and drink.

If I did any early morning journeys I use to call into McDonalds for breakfast. I stopped doing that. Its just wasting money and being lazy.

              G.

Thanksgiving Thursday: Turkey done, all is wonderful.. before I go on with my moan, I hope all of you know where the turkey stuffing is found. anyway. Husband helps himself to his plate, cutting what he wishes off the turkey, scoping up the mashed potatoes and getting the gravy and the veggies. comes to the table. I say to him, did you not want any stuffing, he says, I did not see it.

Looks like I'm going to be spending much more on coffee in the States than I thought next year with the exchange rate as it is, it used to be cheap for us! I bet you don't get free refills now either.
I won't use Starbucks if I can help it.

We got 4 dollars to the pound in 1948. That's why the five shilling piece was nicknamed a dollar. :old:

Yes, @ARMANDII they sell tea also. never tried their tea. I get my tea from a natural food store, and don't drink much of it to begin with. like tea, but after my coffee in the morning, I am just on to water the rest of the day.

I've never found water to really quench my thirst unless it was chilled, but adding a bit of Lemon or Orange juice seemed, to my mind, to add that something that did refresh me. A friend of mine only drinks Hot Water, which I would have thought would be the last thing to satisfy a thirst.:dunno::scratch::doh::snorky:
