LATEST MOAN FROM YOU AND ME 2017 a

I really wish that any threads that have the word "Game" in them did not show up in the spy feature. When I use the spy feature to look for new posts of interests, it seems the whole list consists of 1 to 4 word posts which are not in the least interesting. And they get points for those too? I have occasionally been guilty of posting something to these but it seems lately that they have become the monster gobbling up the forum... Sorry, must be having a bad morning....

 

I agree with @CanadianLori as they also come up with New Posts. I appreciate people do this when they have some spare time. I seem to remember this issue came up some years ago and somehow they were eliminated from general view and could only be seen when one entered the games area.

 

@Victoria that is brilliant about the games area.

I have seen some interesting threads get booted off the spy list within minutes because of the games and then they don't get the attention they deserve or in some cases I see a reply and wonder why I never noticed the original post!

And before someone makes an assumption, no one peed in my cereal this morning, I had burgers for breakfast

 

I pretty much figured that there wasn't any solution that could be done by administration. I really like everyone here. Just wish some of them weren't space hogs. One poster had 13 out of the 22 posts that show up on my spy screen and another had 8... that leaves so little for the rest of the forum members...

Yum, my fudge turned out geat. Now to put on my big puffy coat (blubber camoflage) and go out

 

Oh here we go again ....I realise this is the moaning thread but seeing as I'm obviously getting hammered AGAIN for being a gamer, I may as well defend myself and the other gamers.

I haven't been on this site for over a year due to bereavement, serious illness and a house move. So I came back as I feel better and so I play the games because at this time of year in the UK when the growing season isn't as active, there aren't as many posts about gardening. There are NEVER any complaints about the gamers except for this time of year.

If the bl**dy games section wasn't there we wouldn't be playing them and I'm pretty sure the @Webmaster would have got rid of the games by now if we were causing any aggro.

Additionally I have donated to this site via with my OH in the past so it's not as if I'm not contributing.

Anyway please continue with your moaning and I'll continue to play the games.

 

I agree with @Fern4 . The gaming area is just another part of the whole site.

As for " not in the least interesting " , this is only your personal opinion @CanadianLori .
If we're having a moan about threads etc what about " yawn yawn..... etc.... " am i really interested in what time someone takes their dog for a walk and whether it's raining , no , do i moan about it , no .

As for being a " space hog " well if more people posted then the games wouldn't take up all the spaces would they ?

So, perhaps we should stop playing the games annd then the site would probably be lucky in getting twenty new posts a day at this time of year.

Exactly! Which is why we don't get complaints in the Spring/Summer as more people post about their gardens and more newbies join then.

It makes GC look unfriendly when it usually is a very friendly place. There are loads of GC members who don't mind the games so I'm going to carry on playing as long as other members want to play them with me.

 

@KFF and @Fern4 you have some valid points. I'd been told by another member that one of you mostly visits in the winter when it comes to game time and I'm glad you like it. I honestly believe there would be a lot more postings outside the games area if members had a chance to actually see the new posts and then be able to reply.

The way things are now, a high percentage of the new posts and the spy function produce a list of you two playing. If it's just you two, how about doing the game in a pm? Maybe that would do the trick? Might be fun to carry on the duel that way. You're both pretty darned good at the games

 

If that's me then that's completely incorrect. Not that I should have to justify when I come on here.

Also more than 2 people have been playing the games and I don't agree that we should have to play by pm because some people don't want to scroll down in the New Post section.

 

I wish we had a "gulf stream" effect here. I can't believe we're just starting winter and I'm champing to get outside already. And we have over 3 months to go before the ground will be thawed again!

It's normally me that has to go and see family/friends (we don't do cards/presants etc) so this year i'm doing it differently this year, they can come a see us for a change
