A new lawn season!

Feeling optimistic this year. I have had a few seasons sorting out our lawn. The first year since we bought the house, I removed 20 black bin bags of pure moss! It was so spongey.

The next year about half that amount. I didn't get to do it last year, but I did one pass with the scarifier yesterday, and got a stuffed binful.

The grass looks much less damaged than before also, which is good@

Is now a good time to add something like 'Ever Green 4 in 1' ?

Then after a few days add new seed?

I haven't added any fertiliser at all last year, just a dose of Iron to green it up at the end of summer.

The grass now is half green, with a yellow tone in many places. I want a super lush green lawn ideally!

If you have no weeds then I would not apply a herbicide based fert like a 4 in 1 but I would opt for a straight fert and being the first of the season I would apply a spring/autumn based fert that contains iron.
I would not seed either before or so soon after a feed either but if you want to seed and have prepared the lawn ie scarified then when you dress the lawn the soil will have enough nutrients to green up the turf as the same time and to promote growth.
Always read the label on fertilisers to regards to new grass/seeding.

 

Cheers Liz! I will add a fertisiler in that case, it needs a boost for sure!
