How disappointing. Can you not put some form of cover over the seeds or relocate to an internal windowsill? Our utility room has now become the second greenhouse [IMG] Husband keeps saying no more seeds ! So I have to sneak them in and rearrange everything

No feeling like it. I started peas earlier this year and I was left with casings.
Luckily, still plenty of time to sow more. Good luck

Sunflower seeds sown in 21 x 80mm Fibre pots (set inside flexi pots to prevent drying out) now in heated propagators. This method eliminates root disturbance.

Like the idea of setting them inside flexi pots to avoid drying out. Great idea

Hi Kaz guess i could put them in what will be a summer house eventually, i planted some more in a bucket and only half fulled it with soil hope they cant get in it, i will have to do more work in the greenhouse and stop them getting in,

They dug my seeds up recently luckily a fair few have survived, yes i popped some more in but don't know what they are as there out of bird food, i was more upset about my red ones i will have to pick some more up.

I meant to post an image, but my phone was inside charging. I use this method with (giant)Sunflowers, (long) Runner Beans, (tall) Sweetcorn and some Squashes when I want to start them early in a propagator, then either plant out in open ground, or pot on (into deep 'rose' pot) without any root disturbance if conditions still aren't right.

Hope your feeling better Gail, i cant hurt them its my own fault for not having it secured, only time i would bother if they got in the house as they have on two occasions.

Recovering Martin from kidney problems :gaah:....why don't you buy one of those plug in sensors if you have no other pets in the home...as my sister had mice getting in her home and she brought a couple and they soon went...they give off a load buzzing noise apparently:)
