I noticed sunflower plants for sale in the hardware store a few days ago. They were in bloom  :hate-shocked:. I thought they only flowered late summer.

Were they small bulky ones? They are used as repeat flowering bedding plants now :)

I've just got some free seeds from www.plantapot.info. They're a sunflower called Evening Sun. Is it too late to get them going?

Mine that came free are these ones by Mr Fothergills

I've never grown these red ones before. It says on the packet that they grow to 6ft so I doubt I'll get a really tall one.

They were in individual pots with one flower head per plant. Would they still be good for Bees and Butterflies if used as bedding plants?
