Haven't seen these for 30+ years

    Haven't seen field mushrooms for 30+ years so when i seen these on todays walk i thought dinner tonight :)

    so in with the sauages they went, they're now slow cooking in the rayburn for 4 hours

          Well them plates are now mt, that got the taste buds going, have to go looking for some more now may be gone for another 30+ years tp find some :biggrin:

            They look good Jiffy! I used to go mushrooming with my dad when I was young. Up at the crack of dawn and off over the fields and marshes. :)

            I was allways out mushrooming and would come home with lots (i mean lots and we used to give alot away to a restaurants near by) but now we very rearly see mushrooms now :sad: may be i shouldn't have picked them all years ago :biggrin:

              It was a bonus of spreading horse manure on the borders here that I got a bumper crop of field mushrooms two years running. Two barrowloads each year :) They preserve well in Kilner jars, pre-cooked and sterilised. They've not come back this year, but I do get pine cepes under my sole parasol pine. They grow in the lawn! It seems fair that, having every fungal disease known to man, the garden also has the useful sort :biggrin:

                  Saw these today, Porcelain fungi, they are supposedly non toxic but I don't think anyone eats them!!
