    Yes it is...may I add you might try to get the part of the vine away from behind the white piping. do it even if you have to cut it away now... It is GOING to grow large and push the pipe thingie away from the wall...it is a powerful plant..mark my words...

      Thank you. Its going to be a job to get that from the pipe. It will hve to be the pipe that comes out and replaced . Are they moveable if in a large pot if i do try to untangle it. Thanks

        @Stigofthe I think what @pete is talking about is that you should be cutting that down in Autumn so you won't have to worry about that branch going behind the pipe. Then in spring you should not let it grow anywhere like that again...It is a beautiful plant but can be destructive in certain places.

        Well no, I wouldn't be cutting it back, much better if you can unwind that stem,somehow, even if you have to remove the pipe to do it.
        It looks a young plant, so only minimal winter pruning until it reaches it's allotted space.

        Summer pruning of long shoots that you don't need should be done around July time, I used to find.

        My remark was a bit tongue in cheek regarding the yellow foliage.:smile:
