They look OK to me too @joolz68 - I think tomatoes get curling leafs when they are growing strongly.

Thanks to seeds from JWK I am now harvesting GD both 2012 and 2005 seeds.
I had good germination from both sets of seeds and they are true to Johns findings 2005 toms are smaller but taste is much better from the 2005 just what you would expect from GD. I like them not too ripe with a little green jelly around the seeds and they have that lovely Tang to them.
      Well worth keeping these strains
      Regards Sandy

You are way ahead of me and am really pleased you like the 2005 strain. Also I was a bit concerned if my seed would not come 'true' so it's a relief that it has. Do you think the 2012 strain is worth keeping? I have both growing now but probably a month away from harvest.

        Thanks for the update.

I have only tasted one 2012 strain it was good but not as tasty as the 2005 so am waiting for a few more to judge, as you know the first ones are not always the best, the taste is there just not as good as the 2005 at the moment but I have high hopes for them.

MIne are ready to go outside now @JWK in fact they are a bit pot bound and desperate. I have be advised that a 50/50 mix of JI no.3 and a good quality MPC( I have HUMAX) is suitable but have you got a better recipe? Getting pots and JI No3 on Friday afternoon and the grand ceremony of the relocation over the week end...
          getting excited...:hapydancsmil:

The JI no.3 on it's own will be sufficient for container grown plants. Get the biggest pots you can afford (money and space wise) - this is the key to good yields as it will encourage big healthy root systems.

Because I am growing grafted plants, mine just go in the same soil as last year in the greenhouse. I don't add any fertilizer just Rootgrow (Mycorrhizal fungii) - I will give them a foliar feed if they start to look a bit yellow.

What do you think of the ‘Rootgrow’ John? Is it effective in more general use?

Yes @Freddy Rootgrow is well worth using, I've tried it for about 6 years now with good results. It's mainly for planting shrubs etc but I've found it gives certain veggies a bigger root system.

I use mycorrhizal fungi on most things , I find it very beneficial especially on tomatoes, I did a trial last year grafted plants against fungi treated plants, (posted on here) and found mycorrhizal treatment better than grafting for root growth. I did not graft the plants myself but bought in grafted plants. The grafted plants had good root growth but the fungi treated plants had roots that spread the entire border of the greenhouse, the roots were difficult to untangle at the end of the season but the max measurement was five feet long.
The treated plants were far more productive than the grafted ones and in my opinion tastier.
The border I used them in had previously been used for tomato growing
                  regards Sandy

Potted on my (John's) Gardeners Delight today, now in the greenhouse, will segregate them once they show signs of flowering to ensure true seed.......... Thanks John.

I got a non-grafted Sungold from @Freddy yesterday and will repeat your trial @sandymac. I will plant it alongside my grafted plants. If it works for me then it would save all the effort of grafting.

Guess I can join this thread from time to time. was just given 7 plants, different types. have no real veggie garden. so I potted them up, in big pots. set them in what little pockets of sun I could find. thinking I have to move them again to more sun some where . but I may have a harvest or may not. we shall see.
