Can strawberries be moved

As I had a raised bed empty I decided to put some strawberry plants there and they look really good but when I came to pick some I found ants have been at them and as I do not know a way of keeping the ants off wondered if I could move them to my main strawberry bed which has no ant problem.So just needed to know if they can be moved and when is the best time.

 

There should be runners Paul. Sever and pot them up or plant them out.
I wonder if ants are there because it is dry there.......???

 

If the Ants are a real problem I would be tempted to move them but be careful you aren't just transporting the Ants to your existing Strawberry patch.I moved mine whilst they were fruiting last year due to mice and they were fine.

A friend of mine....she refuses to kill anything......moved tomato plants because they were over run with ants. She ended up with ants in both donor and recipient sites. She did same thing with an area of turf with same result

Heavier watering plus removing aphids .... my advice to her......on the remaining tomato plants proved successful .

 

I've noticed lots of Ants (even an Ants nest) in my Compost bins, I've been keeping them damp but they are still there. Any ideas folks

I could do but was frightened to harm all those lovely Red Worms. I dig out the nest and laid it on the path and picked out the Worms & put them back in the bin.
