    Echinops Ritro, my favourite!

    It likes sun and prefers to be on a dry side. It's a humble plant and will tolerate various situations as long as it's not too wet. It will even grow in a deep container.

    Here are some growing wild in Crete:

      You can tidy up the dead stems and foliage when they no longer look attractive. The dried blooms retain quite a nice shape until storms whack them up. The plants will make new rosettes in spring. :)
