Solved Identification help please - climbing weed?

Hi everyone - newbie here.
Just moved into a house with a large established garden I'm trying to keep on top of.
I've found this climbing in a shrub I'm cutting back but I'm unsure what it is. Doesn't look like bindweed as I know it. Just trying to work out if I should be saving it or pulling it out!

It looks like your clematis has green flower disease or green petal disease.

Green flower disease is a bacterial disease which causes the flowers to be green and deformed and there is no cure.

Green petal disease happens after a cold snap but the flowers /petals remain their normal shape. They go back to normal as the weather warms up again.

Check on the internet for advice and to double check which it is, as, if it's green flower disease you'll have to dig the whole plant out and destroy it

 

Hi @Emsiepie , looking at it again I would probably say it's green flowee disease as some of the flowers seem to look like leaves and so are deformed.
