Growing a wisteria in a pot or as a tree

Hello everyone
I have 2 white wisterias starting to grow up my fence and on to a trellis along the top of my fence As wisteria's can grow quite big, i.m thinking of moving them now, they are young ( 2 years and not yet flowered) because i don't want the fence/trellis to come down later.

I have seen you can grow them in pots or in the ground and train them as small tree's? Any advice would be great

Generally speaking. Almost any plant, tree or shrub can be grown in a pot or container. Logically for most plants, even the minimal amount of soil/compost will provide some some semblence of security.
Here we perhaps enter another area of growing. For instance the art of Bonsai is so interesting. Here basically, a seedling tree whatever is cared for over many years. Various forms of horticultural methods and treatments are provided. The roots are usually cared for, bu trimming, tying and knotting and many means of keeping the specimen dwarfed. So when vieing these litle wonders. It's like, looking at them through the wrong end of a telescope. Everything is minaturised.

Yes basically anything can be container grown .....but for how long? At a guess I'd say six years and your plant will be struggling.

Thank you , i saw a Wistera tree at the garden centre and i may have ago but put it into the ground rather than a pot.

 

Thank you they are both tall as they are over 2 years old. Can i move them now or wait until pruning season? they dont have any flowers on them.

 

I have just found this , thought i would post it to help others that are interested. Its a Wisteria umbrella. Going to do more research.
