Or should it be let us spray.

Let us pray for all lawns in these drought stricken times.
There has been no rain for weeks and none in the forecast.........

I know there are more serious things going on ,but you can’t beat a green lush lawn.

My water company will be looking for a leak in our street with our use over the past few days - I have had the sprinkler on, mostly for the veggies but it does flowering plants and the grass all at the same time. Greenhouse and planters all watered twice a day, and today I have pressure washed the driveway, front path, all the windows (up and down using snow foam!), the alleyway, the entire patio and washed the car before coming in and us all having showers.

I've had an email from our local water company today saying water usage has gone up by 20 percent and giving advice on how to conserve water.

It's been a month now that I've noticed that the pressure in the mains water has dropped by a least a quarter. When I mentioned it to my neighbour he slapped his forehead:doh: and said "so that's why it's taking so long for the lawn sprinkler to do something" but then asked "So, why hasn't the Water Company told us??:dunno::wallbanging:"

Brown grass and in my case moss rapidly greens up after the rains come (down here about mid July to match the holiday season) However a freshly planted perennial or shrub can really suffer with this weather, especially as at the moment we have quite a bit of breeze. So brown grass and green plants for me.

The water companies have issued the no watering lawns ban because of the ‘drought’ but for the past 3 weeks one of the roads we walk along is a busy main road alongside an hospital and school has had a bad leak from beneath the road with gallons of water gushing up out of a crack and cover in the road, but yet they haven’t been to repair the leak underneath:scratch:

Our sprinkler is on for at least five hours every other day. We only water veggies and plants and never water the lawns. I'm doing my bit for conservation by not having showers  :loll:
