Well, we have him home! He is smaller than we were looking for initially, but to be honest we would not trade him for the world - he is gorgeous! Full of character, and already exploring the house, has had a wee sleep and is basically stuck to us like glue since getting home.

Aww my gosh FC he is absolutely adorably gorgeous. He is one very lucky pup to have found such a great ' forever ' family and home.
Keep posting lots of pics....he could become our 'Cheer us up' mascot during these depressing days of Covid.!!:doggieshmooze:

Thank you @Upsydaisy :) He is absolutely adorable, and has a lovely temperament; very placid, loves his cuddles and attention, but also has a cheeky side that comes out as well. He already seems to have started to bond with us as he is coming to us for his cuddles and sticking to us like glue when he wants support (we took him out in the back garden on the lead for a few mins and he was scared bless him - would not leave our sides) so I think he knows he has landed on his paws

Currently he is sleeping (been a big day for a little dog), but I am sure there will be loads of photos and videos to come..

John Wayne always called his dogs, in his films, "Dawg". He should be called "Lucky" as I know he's going to get a lot of loving with you:love30::thumbsup:

              We've named him Fletch.

Fletch was the nickname of Mrs C's uncle who passed away some years back. He was a lovely, gentle soul who brought happiness, smiles and laughter whenever he went into a room. Although not my uncle directly, I loved the bones of the man - we all did.

From experience. I would say that dogs in particular, take to us humans fast than we do to them. This is often displayed even in cases of ill treatment. A dog will invariably come to the owners side, hopefully to be fussed.

Times past. Val was employed by the MOD at Woolwich. Troops would move out, often leaving pets behind. Parking the car one day. A dog came upto her. She fussed it and it followed her into the office. Members of staff, treated it, him to a steak & kidney pie from the local chippy. Poor thing, he was so hungry, the pie went down in one gulp. We rightly named him. Mutley. He appeared to be a cross between a GSD and a Labradore. We took him to the police station. Real old school sgt there. So, you'd like to keep him? By the time the details were entered in the lost & found book. Even Einsteine couldn't have identified him.

Back home. He made friends with our GSD. Then latst pee before bedtime, he was let out into the garden. He took his time. Eventually we found him curled up in a hollow he'd dug out. From then on, he was glued to our sides. He always acted as if his head was too heavy and had to rest his head on whatever was closest. Sadly, after several happy years. One day, he failed to spring up, for his early walk. His back legs had gone. Bye bye old friend. His only fault was. He'd howl continuously when travelling in the car. I will post some pics, if and when I fathom out how to post. Finally. A dog is mans best friend, and the friendship is for life.

We had a bit of a mental hour when we went to bed where he was pushing the boundaries, but he settled once he realised he wasn't getting anywhere and then was quiet for the rest of the night.
We've already managed to go from peeing on the carpet to knowing to go on a puppy pad (not bad when you consider we got him home just before six last night) and has learned 'no' .... doesn't always listen to it, but he knows it the wee monkey.
