    Hi,
My first harvest experimental tomatoes have developed edemas on the lower leaves.
I read from internet that this is usually imbalance in nutrients, too red lights or high humidity/low ventilation.

I have humidity controlled at 50%, so that's unlikely culprit.
Red leds there are 4/35, so unlikely thats causing it either.

    I suspect nutrients..but what?
I'm using regular hydroponic solution, all parameters are within range.
Herbs, beans, cucumbers and peppers are not affected. So its likely something that makes tomato different from others.

    Any thoughts?

Also people getting the parcel can take what seeds they need while adding any surplus seeds that they have.

@liliana Well, I looked in there, liliana, and couldn't find a new Thread for the GC Seed Swap:dunno:
So, if you go to the General Gardening Discussion Forum, you will find I have set up a Sticky Thread for your that members can put their names down on. It's also better in that Forum as not all the seeds given or swapped will be Tomato seeds.

I usually get this issue with tomatoes under growlamps, although I haven't started mine yet (will wait till March). I find once they go out into natural light in the spring all the new leaves are fine. It doesn't seem to affect growth.

Interesting, so its likely the lights, but not red as I don't really have red lights...

Any ideas why the lights may cause blistering?

As mine are hydroponic, I don't intend to take them outdoors. They are about to start flowering.

I've only experienced this problem (Edemas, AKA Oedemas) once, when in 2015 my Chillies in an indoor Growlightbox suffered from it, which I assumed was down to my Chillies sitting in water (they were at low end of plants sitting in a gravel tray right at the back in a far corner where my watering must have been a bit hit and miss).

Those Chillies were beside tomato plants that were not affected by the excess water (+ increased humidity?) and they were at the opposite end from my fan.

Sorry I don't know. You might be right about missing the red light.

                              My seeds arrived today.
Garnet and Jaune Flamme also got sungold. I need to sit on my hands now and not sow too early. Going to sow at start of March I think.
