There is really only a need for a few good IT people and data entry staff in each region to direct data in and data out.

It really comes down to communication. Both directions. Admittedly lots who are government workers cannot share knowledge without employing job trained high levels of garble and subterfuge. (My apologies to those here who work for the government and do a great job)

In a situation like this, it seems to me, from what I've heard, that some surgeries aren't being straightforward either.

I adminstrated an operation that had to be continuously adjusted to accomodate the ebb and flow between demands of manufacturers and the production of steel to supply them. Multimillions of coils of steel per annum. If one simpleton like me can do it, anybody can, given a few architectural design days to come up with something workable. And all of these systems can be tweaked to perform more and more efficiently.

It would be a great way of employing those put out of work by this pestilence. Data transmission staff in every surgery. Think tanks.

Yes, it is that simple! If a surgery "knows" all of their patients, then they know what their unit's needs are and can be facilitataed on a request basis which in turn would spin up to an accurate demand/supply chain style model.

Obviously some surgeries did not communicate their saturation. They should have informed the powers that be that they are already down to priority level 7 when calling for people to use up viable vaccines and proper reporting in the early days and forward would have enabled the extra doses to subsequently go to other regions where they were more needed.

      Just my opinion....

I have to put my hands up, and admit. I am totally confused.

There's no questioning. This virus is a KILLER. It is a worldwide pandemic. Day after day, our TV's are showing us no end of graphs etc. Vast numbers are displayed, representing all, well known reported new cases. So so many deaths etc.
Politicians, medics, scientist all doing their best.

I take my hat off to the medics who are working at breaking point to treat and save lives.

          Now comes my point.
Thankfully, I have had both my jabs. I hope I haven't bored fotum friends with the running commentary. Now my tiny mind is asking me questions that I can't answer.

For instance. Having been vaccinated against the virus. My understanding is. It's possible for me to become a victim nevertheless. However the assumption being. In the event of me becoming infected, then the threat to my life would be less. So medically speaking. I might well be confined to bed. I might well undergo a period of difficult and painful breathing etc, but have no fear. The jabs will prevent the grim reaper from snatching me away from family and friends.
Next. So I am now protected to some degree. Yet. I can still become infected and perhaps more frightening. I can pass it on to others.

Just being jovial. Like a Russ Abbot sketch. Don't worry folks. I've had the jabs. Look at all my little perferations. Sadly, as much as I want to hug you or kiss you. Even being closer tha 6feet apart. (new interpretation of 2mtrs). We can't embrace.

This is just me. All sounds so muddled up. YES. Thankfully I still have all my marbles, but think of the less fortunate. Really. Honestly how does all this translate to them????

If you have had covid and produced your own antibody's then have the vaccine, can you overdose on the antibody's and will your antibody fight the man made one's and then fall ill ?????

The current thinking on this point is "no". The virus and the vaccine are two completely different types of things. :blue thumb:

I for one cannot have a live vaccine as I produce anti-bodies because of Hashimoto Disease which is hereditary but actually very common...1% a the population have this.

I'm not sure but I thought non of the vaccines were live ones. What I understood about them is that the Pfizer and Moderna are not live and the AstraZenica contains a harmless form of a different virus that has been altered so it cannot cause an illness.

You should always consult with your doctor or specialist about it. :blue thumb:

For some weeks now I have been having a go at Tesco for staff not wearing masks (one third of them in a very large store in a town near us weren't wearing masks) but with not much success. Their H.O. response, and from the store manager, was that if they say they are exempt then they can't do anything about it. I certainly accept that there are people who are exempt but one third of employees seems ridiculous - which I said to them. I said to them that if someone is exempt then they should be happy to show some form of medical exemption and not a simple piece of paper that they have printed off the internet. The other staff were also unhappy about the situation.

I really didn't get very far with it but then put it on local internet media explaining the situation and suggesting that if they are not happy then they may want to shop elsewhere.

This morning when I went shopping all the staff were wearing masks. It is more likely that all the government warnings effected this change but I would like to think my nagging them helped a bit. Some of the staff that knew I had been having a go at Tesco, and had been wearing the masks, thanked me. :ideaIPB:

I do not know if you are aware that because of the Huguenots mainly from France fleeing from terror so often to the UK in there are many thousands spreading a little bit of French Attitude via their genes therefore the mix comes through when you fight back for the good...like you did..pat on the back..does that make sense!

No thank you Mark - I think I can make my own mind up when it comes to starting to relax my guard:

First minister Mark Drakeford has said Wales is beginning to “turn a corner” as Covid infections rates start to decrease.

He has said there could be some “early marginal differences” to lockdown restrictions announced next week as a “reward” for all the “astonishing efforts” people have made in the past few weeks.
