They set up a vaccination point at Headcorn airfield, which is kind of local to me, but apparently they cancelled all appointments today due to the vaccine not being delivered.:dunno:

I think supply is going to be the big problem with all this.

Hats off to our NHS :love30: - they are jabbing as fast as they are getting supplies of the vaccine.

Oxford have stock piles of the stuff - so the necessary bottleneck in really down to the boffins who check that each batch is safe to use.

        Safety first:

Wales First Minister Mark Drakeford told Sky News one of the four batches of the Oxford vaccine his country was due to receive this week had failed testing.

This is relatively old news about batches of the Oxford Vaccine failing to be usuable, and as they have been upscaling batches it becomes a big problem.

When it only costs a couple of pounds a jab, just why the UK Government didn't take a punt on aquiring massive stockpiles in advance of approval escapes me.

If they've already spent £6,000 per person on other measures, surely risking just an extra couple of quid per person would have been worthwhile?

Matt Hancock said at today's briefing "Supply is the rate limiting factor".

Presumably the vaccine has a shelf life.

Should the news media take a step back at times. The BBC had an evening news feature. Clive Myrie at the Royal London Hospital. Clip opens with a body being placed in the mortuary. Then scenes of the medics at work. Then a patient passes away. A nurse gives way to tears. So often we are shewn clips of distressed people, breaking down and crying. Why can't the cameras move away. Give the poor sad person room to breathe. They have just stood by helpless to preventing a loved one from dying. This is not like filming, family and friends, waiving bye bye to others going on holiday. This is a one way ticket. Time the BBC in particular gave some respect.
I have to admit. Seeing that nurse break down, caused my eyes to fill up. These are professional people, dealing with life and death, every day. To me. This signalled that these medics are at the end of their tether. They need our support and love.

I can't help wondering at times. Past governments etc who supported all kinds of cut-backs in the medical services. I wonder. Does their consciouse prick them now?

They need, Mike, those people who are disregarding the basic rules of Social Distancing, Washing of hand, and the wearing of Masks to either stop spreading the Virus and sending themselves and others into the Hospitals to actually see the reality of what really goes on in the Covid Wards. Maybe the Media showing that horrible stark reality is not a bad thing as we lost over 1600 people today to the Virus.
Past Government policies are past Government policies, for the Government now and those in the future, the NHS is now on a different level of priority and investment than those of Thatcher and Blair.

The likely problem with that is that the people ignoring the rules (or non-believers) generally don't watch those programmes. :dunno:

The TV are trying to shock people.
They actually interview people in the hope that they will break down and cry.
No mileage in some one who doesn't.
