Wish I had the skills to produce something like that. I’ve tried to use left over pieces of wood to make my own planters.
I’ve made three from decking boards that I had recovered from else where in the garden

@flounder no, I just sort of planned them in my head and worked out what I thought was appropriate dimensions. Plus what lengths of wood I had. :)

@Cordy, thanks. In the plastic pots are petunias. Each of the wooden planters have geraniums in the middle flanked by begonias.

These Mr.W made out of 2.70 metre lengths of round poles cut into two
on a table saw..He has got through 3 in 6 years by buying DIY.
One was ruined cutting a very solid piece of oak..burnt out..:wallbanging:
The poles are the middle of the tree trunks @ 1.20 euros and they sell thousands for various jobs...

Nice. More interesting than flat boards. Might have to give it a go.
I only use a hand saw as my wife says I can’t be trusted with power tools :)

wise wife...Mr.W had an accident..so you now can choose to read or not read.....
He was using a Chop Saw January 2018 and he still had his gardening gloves on one got caught it the Saw and drag his hand into it. Two days and he went to the Pharmacie for more dressings and a member of the staff gave him a lecture and sent him off the the hospital in a place called Ruffec. There he had injections stitches and hours later he returned home.. our daughter had taken him there. Each day for weeks on end a nusre came to the property and inspected it cleaned it, changed the dressings. That's enough gore..You would not know now that had happened but it could have so much worse...Mr. W uses a chain saw a lot when we cut up the logs but honestly care is taken much more seriously of course.

It's not the tool that is dangerous, it's the person using it. My wifes late uncle had a terrible habit of removing guards from tools, especially grinders. After overstretching whilst up a ladder, he successfully managed to fall between a hedge and his garage, lacerating his hand so badly, he was able to paint a warfarin infused diagonal stripe down his garage door. Luckily, a neighbour heard him crash down.....I miss that unsafe illegitimate child

Beware of hoodies with dangling drawstring cords, as they will drag a grinder or saw into your face.

The planter by the chalet has been used for growing salads and other times plants. This year it is filled with bulbs...Mr. W made it about 3 years ago now and I love it.
The Monkey Puzzle was planted out behind our pond within a patio and seemed happy but then it quite quickly had a brown branch at the base which spread very fast upwards...it died sadly...going to plant something else there one day.
