Dogs know when something is wrong

As some of you know our daughter has Diabetes type 1 .
Something she was diagnosed with after a very bad pregnancy and sadly still has problems controlling her sugar levels 11 years later. We can usually tell when something is wrong with her.

Now it appears our German shepherd recognises her drop in sugar levels too before she does herself. Our daughter felt ok but whilst sowing some seeds with me our German shepherd started acting oddly , would'nt leave her side , pushing herself into her legs and started licking her hand , looking up at her with a worrying look in her eyes and continuing to whine .
Our daughter suddenly felt sick did the usual prick finger test she was 2 point 1 ....dangerously too low.
so inbetween us getting some orange juice and energy tablets into her she eventuly built her blood sugars up to a safer level , took just over the hour before she was feeling ok ish
All the while our dog looking on..

It is said dogs can be trained to pick up on these things, Im convinced with Jade it must have been instinct .

 

Always said they know much more than we realise.

Many years ago i was employed by a security firm to call on Static Guards to see that all was well with them and the premises they were in,..one such premises was a Convent where all the Nuns had moved to a new premises,..apart from those buried in the basement vaults,..some had being removed to the new premises others were in the process and tombs were half opened.

Most of the Guards heard noises so loud they were scared out of their wits others had reported someone had tugged at their uniforms as they went about their patrol,..one had left an unopened carton of milk on the table and when he returned its milk had poured out through pinholes made in the carton,..nobody else had a key to enter the Convent,..i was called several times to remove the Guards then remain there myself,..nothing happened while i was there.

One thing i noticed was that where the Stations of the Cross used to be on the walls there was a handmade Cross remaining,..it gave the name of a Nun,..it saddened me to think that while the Stations were being prayed at it would come to the attention of the Nuns and they would remember that Nun who was mentioned,..not any more as the Stations went to the new premises,..the Cross forgotten.

Thereafter where ever i went and noticed a Cross i would think of that Nun,..this went on for some years until i became aware i had a presence when i was alone,..it never really bothered me,..and i became used to it,..that was until i moved into my present house,..my dog would sit looking at something,.. wagging its tail and moving its head to follow what ever was there,..now that bothered me no end as the presence would be just behind me at times and i had to look around,..the Church is just two doors away from my house so i spoke to the Priest,..he had a Mass said for the Nun in question,..gave me the Medal below which is a Saint Benedict Medal,..you should look this up and its uses,..it worked,..now there is just my dog my cat and me living here,..yes Dogs see things.

The Medal is approx the size of an old Penny,..its on my key ring.

 

That is so eerie Philip ,really does give one something to think about.I have also checked up about St Benedict , very interesting.

 

I believe in these goings on and have experienced a few myself.

 

My Dad often said that in the evening( he could've been just tired I know) he would turn his head to look over at the other chair ,thinking that my Mum was there. One of his Ladradors was a real lap dog and would spent the evening curled up on my Dad's lap, he would suddenly turn to look towards the chair too, although he never knew my Mum....

Dog 's can also detect if a person has Cancer too.

 

By smell apparently and they can pick up different cancers and distinguish between them; read an article on it this week.
They can also pick up on epileptic seizures before they happen and I have heard of other instances where diabetics with poorly controlled blood sugar are alerted by their dog.

 

Our German shepherd must be one of those then Nigel.it's remarkable.
