Did you grow it from seed, and did you plant it out too early, I dont think I planted my early ones out until they were a few years old.

Grown from seed, potted for 3 or 4 years, in ground for 2 or 3 years. It strikes me as strange, as I had tradescantia pallida and chlorophytum comosum both survive narnia:dunno:

Well, the last really bad winter here was 2009-2010, had a few things lost.
So unless you planted out just before that winter I'm surprised you lost your plants.

I'm not really into Narnia's

My punica nana actually produced fruit before I left the garden in Nottinghamshire but they were pretty small and the seeds didn't have much jelly around them. I'm trying again here with a cheap plant from Morrison's.

@Emily Jones - yes, me too so we will find out together if they can stand the damp! In Nottinghamshire, although it was cold, it seemed a lot drier over the winter.

Got some dead buds on one of mine I noticed today, the frost yesterday has caught them.
So that means die back, have know then to break buds in January in mild winters only to get clobbered by frost in February.

:heehee: Don't knock it! I've got some friends in Pembroke Dock and they grow quite a few shrubs that struggle here...at least it's a gentle climate :)

I've noticed south Wales seems to get some pretty decent weather these days I dont think its quite so wet as is sometimes said, and in spring they often get warmer weather than my neck of the woods.

You're right, the past few springs have been quite warm and balmy! Not quite the same this year, sunny days followed by pretty chilly nights. Down to -1 some nights this week. Hoping this frosty spell will pass soon, but we are still pretty early in the year yet
