What do you reckon to this Ursula? All 4 nations of the UK pulling together. What must the sausage producers in Éire be thinking - I suspect that the NI producers are quite pleased.

Tesco has said it will still be able to service its business in Northern Ireland if chilled meat products from Great Britain are banned from sale.

Fresh sausages and other chilled meats from GB are to be banned under the terms of the NI Protocol in July.

Two other major supermarkets are now sourcing almost all their sausages locally for sale in Northern Ireland.

Wow. Didn't realize the situation was this dire. Shortage of workforce, veggies rotting in the fields and supermarkets with low stocks.

BoJo's plans must be kicking in every second now. I mean he has a plan... Doesn't he?

I wish everyone affected the best of luck. Stay safe and stay healthy.

No shortages in the shops around here and the harvesting is going on as normal. Some deliveries have been late because of drivers 'pinged' re Covid.

As usual I think it is in part down to the media turning a problem into a national catastrophe.
No wonder covid was not taken too seriously when it first started.

No shortages here, it's localised due to covid rather than brexit. My Yorkshire cousin has had problems getting all her online food deliveries because so many supermarket staff are isolating they aren't able to pick everything she has ordered. At least Boris has realised and allowed some workers to continue providing they take daily tests.

I've got two adult daughters. The eldest one had her jabs, fine.
The younger one point blank refused to get the jabs stating that she'd been reading online that they weren't safe, and that she might get blood clots..
I'm not making this up, she has now tested positive and is in self isolation which means she can't attend work.
She appears to be getting through it, but there's evidently a lot of absense from industry caused by scare mongering.
I noticed yesterday that the very high infection rate may at last be coming down.. Fingers crossed :th scifD36:

                Congratulations, your daughter played herself.

In all seriousness, I hope she gets better soon and there are no lasting effects.
Sadly it is rather common for people to blindly believe what someone on Facebook or the boulevard media is posting. And even more scarce is the ability to critically think about the information given. 100 cases of blood clotting seem like a lot, but compared to the odds of getting a heavy case of CoViD-19, I'd take a jab every day of the year.

Had to drag my wife to get hers as well, because she was scared as a friend of her sisters neighbors uncle knew someone that got really sick from getting vaccinated after a heavy night of drinking...

Am I correct in thinking that lorries coming into English ports are not being searched for stowaways at the moment ?
Is that perhaps the reason the BBC were able to announce this morning that the number of such stowaways being discovered is down ?

I don't know, I assume they still go round them with the co2 sensors ,but they were saying security has been stepped up in France which is stopping a lot of it.
Now we have bunged the French another few million again to try to stop the rubber boats coming across.
I guess when the winter comes they will be back on the lorries.

From what I've seen they are 99% men in those rubber boats..
What's happening to all the women and children left behind. There's probably a documentary knocking around.. or there will be in time.

It's all part of the plan regarding the women and children left behind.

The youngest member of the family gets caught in mid channel, then free transport to England. After a few months of moaning about their conditions they finally get given the right to live in the UK.

At which point all the rest of the family get given the right to join them.
Some wrangling goes on but they have services over here that guide them through the process and guidance on what if any benefits they can claim.

They are better informed about the system here than any of us who were born here.

One drawback of the world wide web i guess.
I can't see this situation going away anytime soon.

And I agree, it´s been happening since before the Romans, and will no doubt continue.
It is why most of the English are there in the first place.
                          I´m English -- of mixed race, Anglo-Saxon.
Put as many lines on the map as you like, the map is not the territory.

That's the usual argument we get, it kind of wears thin when you consider that its the whole word on the move now not just people from a small area.
And during those times, way back when, I dont think they had a housing crisis, and people paying taxes in order to support the newcomers.

There is no way you can compare what has gone on before to what is happenig now.
                          Different times, different situation.

When the whole world has deserted the war zones, and the famine zones that they create, and they are all living in Europe and N. America and Australasia who is going to populate the sh*tholes of the world.
