    From GB News.
GB News has divided its viewers again after presenter Neil Oliver said his willingness to catch Covid-19 and pass it on to others was an expression of his desire for freedom, likening it to the Battle of Britain.

Neil bleats a good deal about freedom, but let him sit in his local shopping centre drinking a can of Special Brew and he would soon determine the extent of his "freedom."
I understand that in Scotland it is a criminal offence to use "Hate Speech" within your own house, even if no-one but your lap-top is listening, so Neil can add freedom of speech to his desires.
We need a vaccine against this epidemic of silliness -- it´s getting dangerous.

Perhaps Neil would like to explain his views to my two cousins who died from the virus, that would be karma.

Perhaps Neil has yet to lose a relative John, very sorry to read that you have experienced loss.

Is television the modern equivalent of Defoe´s "a velvet jacket, a band, and a black coat"?
Neil Oliver is good at standing on hilltops silhouetted against a stormy sky looking thoughtful, but that may be the limit of his skills, and it seems clear that broadcasting this muppet´s view of the world is a serious mistake with the full force of technology behind it.

I have enjoyed watching his history based programmes in the past. But the analogy with the Battle of Britain is completely wrong, there was no choice then to go out and face the enemy. Dunkirk would be more applicable, when the odds are overwhelming it's better to retreat, regroup and develop new weapons.

As far as I can see there are two schools of thought on this:

              - Neil Oliver wants his freedom now - even if this means that he contracts Covid-19 and passes it onto others;

              - then there are emminently qualified and experienced medical professionals who tell us that to get back our freedom we need to get the vaccine to protect ourselves and others.

One of them is wrong, I wonder who it is? :dunno:

He is a younger version of Tony Robinson off Time Team only has a comedy accent and long hair and wears a funny hat, a bit like Phil on Time Team.

Don't ask what Time Team is :)

Neil was the Scottish guy who presented Coast, a really good series. Quite surprised he is doing shock broadcasts, it gets the viewing figures up.

Coast was a fantastic series, exploring a section of the UK coastline every week. With articles on it's history and places of interest. It ran for 10 years, well worth a look if you find it on Dave or Yesterday channels.

The Welsh government is set to confirm on Friday if Wales will move to alert level zero from Saturday.

It would mean no limit on indoor meetings and an end to 2m distancing.

I think I'll wait a bit longer before diving into a crowded room - thank you Mark.

Restrictions have been lifted completely here but Ms Sturgeon requests that we continue to distance and use masks where appropriate.
