    Could in plant out some new ones now, for harvest in december??? Or am i wasting my time??

    You'll be a better gardener than me if you manage to start and grow cauliflowers now. I'd get some spring cabbage on the go instead.

    If you can get some plants and give them shelter you mght, December could be a bit soon though.

    I've never grown 'spring' cauliflowers, but there's no reason you shouldn't try them.
    Only snag is i guess, you'd be waiting till way past easter to harvest.

    You could sow seed of All Year Round overwinter the young plants and plant out in spring for a summer crop.

      I have just planted my spring cauliflower, sown a month ago. There is still time to sow up to end of August but they won't be ready till March or April.

      I am trying the winter variety aalsmeer for the first time, my brother grows it with good results.

          Hmm, does not seem to matter when I sow cauliflower I always seem to be “wasting my time” and no I do not have a giant remote:heehee:

            Seem to remember there are two types of cauli.
            The summer ones are the real thing, but was told years ago the hardy overwintering types were really a strain of broccoli.:dunno:

            In other words it needs to be the right kind.;)

                Even though im not a big fan of cabbage myself, i may switch to that instead of cauloflowers
