They are advertising for people to be magistrates. you need to be between 18 and 70 (ageists ). I was asked a number of times to apply but that was when I was too busy working - but I was also asked to suggest possible candidates (because of positions I held). More useless info from Shiney Just in case anyone puzzles over how the Three R's can stand for Reading, Writing and Arithmetic - it doesn't! It originally stood (in the meaning we knew it to be) for Reading, Recording and Reckoning but that was back in my younger days. They are now trying to make the saying stand for something completely different (not in the Monty Python way) but that depends on whether it is education or business.
