    Hanglow,
Yes, the Serenade I grew this year is third generation originally from a supermarket. This could be why the fruit looks different from the original as you say.
    Thanks for your suggestion.

    Best regards

Thank you for the mosquito bits information.

I bought some of it on Monday when I flipped down to Niagara falls, NY. :dbgrtmb:

I also picked up concentrated Neem oil too.

My Peppers are nearly 8 weeks behind because my first seeding did not germinate so I'm doing everything I can to protect the few plant I have this year.

You are very welcome and if you need information on the mixing of the Neem Oil or options on the Mosquito Bits then you only have to ask.

@Ademission thank you. I use capillary watering in my little greenhouses and will dose that water a bit each time however everybody is getting a dose immediately!

I also have a white fly issue happening so lots of spraying off the bugs and larvae on the leaves and then a coat of monterey garden/spinosad. Looks like the whole arsenal is coming out!

Quite often you find that if you restrict the size of the pot you just get the fruit growing closer together but still plentiful. :blue thumb:

@CanadianLori how are my Hybrids going? Are they surviving the infestation? They tend to be pretty good at that. :)

Locotos remain my only ripening chilli. Very productive. The ones planted in the ground are the same size as the ones in 3 and 5 litre pots.

Aji limon is looking good, at least the one in my sunroom, the greenhouse and outside ones have not really produced any fruit. I also removed the greenhouse one to outside as it was getting mouldy in places, like you would see in autumn. Not a good year for them there.

Also pics of jalapeno orange pepperoncini, and biquinho. Same story for them and their allotment siblings IMG_20220731_103641862_HDR.jpg IMG_20220731_104016549-01.jpeg IMG_20220731_103741422_HDR.jpg IMG_20220731_103730758_HDR.jpg IMG_20220731_103717620_HDR.jpg

They did survive quite nicely and are flowering. My other plants, well, one died but the rest are recovering. It's like the gods are telling me to stop being so pushy. Between the seeds from a supplier that got frozen in transit and rendered useless and the white fly, I've had a bit of a challenging year for chillies!

I took everything out of the greenhouses and fumigated the areas to bejesus before putting the sprayed chillies back in. So far. No critters. :fingers crossed:

They have quite a hot initial burn but it seems to disappear fairly quickly and it also cooks out quickly I think. Maybe cayenne level when eaten raw. Apparently they have a slightly different type of capsaicin than most peppers.

Also they are quite thick walled and juicy

                      Hello all,

Just did another round of harvesting. The JalapeƱos and Birds Eye chilis are now starting to ripen and I got a few early ones. I also harvested some Sweet Peppers (King of the North, Corno de Torro) and a few Serenades, Cayennes and a couple of Hungarian Hot Wax (pictures below).

Lots more to come when they ripen. So it's out with the vacuum sealer and clear some space in the freezer.

                        Hello all,

Just been bagging up yesterday's harvest and sealing them up ready for the freezer. Vacuum sealing them extends the life in the freezer and prevents frost forming so we always do this.

                          That's a nice selection

First lemon drop and ring of fire has ripened for me. Jalapeno, pepperoncini and biquinho still all green

                            Hello all,

In the last pictures I posted I forgot to photograph the Corno Di Toro peppers I harvested (translates to Bulls Horn).

Nice sweet peppers with a decent crop. Now in the freezer with the rest.
