Woos 5 New Roses

Thank you for the information @wiseowl and i agree with you.

 

I'm looking forward to hearing what you choose Woo. I'm missing my roses, they don't grow well here and the few I have the deer found last year and stripped them.

 

A good idea @wiseowl but it would be a losing battle with the deer, the soil and living in a high, open area. Anything that is light in weight like plastic would need to be anchored well and sheltered or the wind will tear it to bits, and unfortunately I don't have a greenhouse here. I have already dug one rose out and potted it, a few others still to do, but they have to be tucked right in against the house wall hoping the deer won't see them. Although shy they are inquisitive animals so will investigate their surroundings and devour anything they have a taste for. I've heard them right outside my bedroom window overnight.

Chinatown is a lovely rose, a friend of mine used to have it and I tried cuttings but they never 'took'
