I took a wander through Trelissick Gardens, Cornwall recently where I spotted this gorgeous Arisaema speciosum var Mirabile, helpfully it had a name plate. Close by I found another species, unlabelled (Boo!). So far the best I have been able to come up with, is A. concinnum (green form), but my confidence rating is miniscule. Any ideas, guys? Arisaema speciosum var Mirabile Arisaema sp I have emailed Trelissick, but I've not heard back from them yet. TIA Fof
I don't think its A candissimum as with me it's a that is a laater flowering one, with distinct pink and white stripes.
True it is pinker generally. But I had one once that was more green and white ( well I was told it was candidissimum!)
@CarolineL there could very easily be a green form of A candidissimum in cultivation. have a feeling the leaves aren't right, but I couldn't find a photo of mine's leaves. There is certainly a white form available (Edrom Nurseries)
See also post above. There is a white flowered Arisaema candidissimum...but leaves are still in 3's. I love Arisaema and grew many different sp.in old garden. I also have the Arisaema book. But not enough time to compare leaves and spathe just now. Sorry.
Hi guys. Thanks for the feedback. Silver Surfer, that is a beautiful specimen. I've not heard back from Trelissick, yet, but finger crossed.
Thanks. Please feel free to look at my Arisaema pics on flickr to see if you can find a match. (grown in our Welsh garden. ) All pics are labelled..in A- Z order. ARISAEMA
Silver Surfer. Gorgeous pics and plants. Still no closer to a definative ID, as I've not heard back. A. concinnum is still the closest I can find.
Well, I heard nothing from the NT garden staff, so I popped back to check, in case there was a name plate I had not noticed. (I can be as blind as a bat at times.) While there I rediscovered a secluded bed that they had cleared and replanted a couple of years ago. lo and behold, some more Arisaema, unnamed, and one labelled as A. ringens. Doesn't look like your's, Silver Surfer. The spadix is yellow and at least 2 feet long. Fof
Arisaema ringens from a year or so ago. The other looks like A tortuosum. The second photo down reminds me of A griffithi Thanks to the recent spell of dry springs and hot summers I no longer have these.
