I can’t remember the last time I saw a swan @Selleri . Must be years ago now. They seem to have disappeared from here.

Was lucky enough to see four swans flying over the house the other day! A fantastic sight!

Swans always look graceful ... from a distance. There's a river near here that has them on it.

They are all here @Songbird

We have a lot of streams, rivers and ponds around here and Swans are very common. My bus goes between two artificial ponds (ex- mines) and sometimes the traffic stops for a while when a swan decides to cross the road very slowly. They must know they are protected. :)

In the field behind us there are some sheep. No idea the breed but most have horns and very small tails. Over 2 weeks ago 1 lamb was born. A deep brown/black colour (the ewes have white wool). No other lambs until yesterday and now there are 7. Saw the eldest encouraging the others to join in....they run up and down the field, then stop and jump up with all feet off the ground and then start running again. They really seem to be enjoying themselves and it does bring a smile to our faces. A delight to watch.

@Selleri , loved the mental image of swan stopping traffic- wonderful and how lovely to have lots of them about. If you have a-plenty , tell some of those swans to come and visit us here. :)

I live on a hill so I can see over the gardens lower down than mine ... and from the kitchen window there was a lovely view of a hill with fields.
However a few years ago a non-gardening couple moved into one of the houses lower down than me, and let some trees grow so tall they blocked my nice view - they'd now grown as tall as the house and I could only see a wall of trees.
About two years ago I told them their trees had taken my view but nothing was done about it ... until today when I noticed suddenly the trees have gone - all of them chopped down ! and I've got my view back :dbgrtmb:

My Gaura lindheimerii plants have survived the winter. Always touch & go up here so I was really pleased to see those new shoots when I was cutting stuff back today. The ones I grew from seed and planted out last year are doing far better than the one I bought as a ready-grown plant the year before.

I tried for days to get a picture of the blood moon and this morning I was lucky to have my tele lens still on the camera.

Ordering chocolate online. It's so easy to obtain it. Now just to get it through the front door without my wife noticing!!

Edited to add: It is a birthday present for her, NOT me trying to eat chocolate without being seen!
