Miscanthus lady in red

Hi everyone,

is any one growing this ?

Any does or donts , would be very helpful

I wondered if that was real so had to google and see who was selling it. Although it’s established suppliers, it still looks as if the image has been enhanced to me?
I’ve never seen one with such red foliage before. Looks very striking

 

I was thinking the same thing , just looked too good to be true ..

 

I'm intrigued by that @Spruce. I wonder whether that's the fresh new growth or advancing autumn colour which many Miscanthus varieties show, but more intense. It's not listed by Knoll Gardens on their website or in either of Neil Lucas' two books, which might indicate lack of garden worthiness, or fiction .

 

That photo does make it look stunning and many images on a Google search seem to use that same photo.

I did find another though that may be a bit more realistic-



PS - on reflection, I think it may be the same plant taken a bit later in the season

I must admit I was tempted

 

I think we are all tempted, maybe just a matter of who gives in first. They will then (hopefully) report back to the rest of us……please

 

It’s on the Crocus website, available to order “from summer”. It looks like the same photo but there are other close ups worth looking at .

 

The colour saturation looks to be pushed up judging by the greens around it. Its a common trick used to make things look more appealing online and colours less washed out. I used to work for an art gallery and ran the website and I pushed up the colour saturation all the time.
