These guys are popping up everywhere - in all my pots and raised bed too.

Is it a concern or am I doing something wrong?

You've done nothing wrong, but seeds are germinating. I think they may be sycamore seeds, which can distribute themselves very widely. Be easier to tell when the 'true' leaves start coming through.

Yep. A second vote for sycamore seeds.

Sycamore or Ash - bit too small to tell but do you have either of these nearby ?

The only thing you could do wrong is leave them, especially those in the ground. While a tree is a tree, there are some, like sycamore, which are not British* and should be removed from the countryside. If you choose to keep one as a pet, you ought to ensure it does not multiply...
*introduced mid 14century, possibly by returning troops from N.France.

Whilst it was sad the tree was felled and definitely negatively affected the immediate landscape, I did think it was ridiculous to put lots of effort into growing on its seeds/cuttings. It's not like we are short of Sycamores.

Sycamores are weeds in tree form.

Thank you all. I’ve plucked these out today and will continue for the foreseeable.
We’ve had a few gales this winter and indeed, our yard has been covered in helicopters. So this all makes sense.
Thank you for clearing it up for me!

Worse than Ash Pete, I've suffered both.

I have both Ash and Sycamore seedlings every year and wouldn't like to choose.

I get ash but not sycamore, I guess it just depends on what trees you have near you.

When I was a child there was a sycamore in our garden and an ash next door (both long gone now). The hours I spent pulling out seedlings to earn my pocket money !

The giant ash tree that was on our front verge was felled and the stump removed at least 30 years ago. We're still struggling to dig out new ones as they seem to send vertical roots deep down before showing noticeable heads above ground. :wallbanging:
