Well we went today to a reunion. Neither of us were sure that we wanted to go, but we did. It was from some staff/members/post grad students etc from Southampton university Oceanography Dept. People came from Canada, America and all around the UK. It ended up being something that we were glad that we had made the effort. Amazing people with amazing stories and so many laughs from stories that had happened. A long day but glad we did do it.

Today's walk. Was overcast and bit of a breeze. Soon as I arrived back at the house the sun came out and wind dropped right down. Spent rest of afternoon drinking coffee, watching bunnies wind up Eli the cat and listening to the birds. Neighbours gone out so blissfully peaceful :):)

First of all a bird got into my shed ... I suffer from ornithophobia so had to ask someone to go in and open the windows for it to fly out (it must have got in through the door)
A few hours later the bird was still in there :frown: but I think it's gone now ...

Then I had a delivery of concrete bricks so that I can lift my cold frames off the ground.
THEY WERE THE WRONG BRICKS ! :nonofinger:
I'd asked for the light ones - the ones they use for insulation on the inside skin of a cavity wall, because I can carry them better. The 'ordinary' ones are too heavy for me, especially if there are 30 of them.
AND they delivered them to the wrong place. I asked for them to be delivered to the little road that passes the bottom of my garden, because that's where they're needed ... but they were brought to the front of the house !

After a phone call from me (to which the recipient said 'I can hear the anger in your voice') I was told they'd come back tomorrow to get the bricks, and deliver the correct ones - TO THE BOTTOM OF THE GARDEN !

THEN I saw a man throwing his dog sh*t bag into the hedgerow along the road behind my garden so I told him to take it home. All I got was a load of abuse.
I reported this behaviour to the council recently but they just don't care, so they got sent another email, which included some very plain speaking.
The hedgerows are full of plastic bags containing dog sh*t, and the plastic bags are worse than the sh*t - that decomposes but the plastic bags don't.

But the sunshine is warm :dbgrtmb: so it isn't all bad

One of those days then @Michael Hewett :wallbanging: :wallbanging::wallbanging: :wallbanging::wallbanging::wallbanging::wallbanging::wallbanging::wallbanging::wallbanging::wallbanging:

I think you need a proper treat tonight, tea, chocolate and a good book perhaps? I was about to suggest baking something nice but using the oven during a day like that might not be advisable...

The bird is out, the brick situation at least half way resolved and you have done the right thing to report poobag throwing to the council. Those contacts will be recorded and the data analysed and once they have a clear "trend", they might take some action.

Obviously the poobag culprit will not be hunted down, caught, drawn and quartered but I still believe that for example public educational information campaigns actually do make a difference over time. (Forever the optimist :) )

Enjoy your tea or whatever you choose to pamper yourself with, tomorrow should be a lovely, sunny April's day- a real treat. :)
