Yes I surprised myself by being able to contribute to a discussion on cars!

Football is the worst one for me. My team mates at work are mostly male, so when we have our online team meeting and the leader doesn't arrive promptly, they tend to fill in the time by talking football. It's so tedious!

Do you mean the Jaz drive? (There is also something called Jazz drive which is a relatively recent cloud storage solution.) This was a physical device made by Iomega and was an evolutionary step up from their much celebrated Zip drive which I used myself in the 90's (and still have somewhere).

dBase II for me, which used to run in it's interpreted form until someone introduced the Clipper compiler and then an upgrade to dBase III. I used to enjoy programming with dBase. It was very intuitive. I think I found my level there though - I could never cope with the later Visual Basic (which was nothing like Basic!) and all the GUI window stuff.

I was taken to watch a football match when I was eight. Never watched football since! Although I ended up playing for my school - played outside left as I was left-footed and very fast. After leaving school I've never seen a football since. :heehee:

@ViewAhead ,,your posts did make me laugh out loud:) The conversation is similar to what my OH has to listen to when he goes out for lunch with some old colleagues of his. His mates tend to chatter on, endlessly, about caravans, mobiles and holiday spots.:snooze: They sometimes do realise that he isn’t “ contributing” shall we say!? ..and then the topic is changed:heehee:

I can use a computer but no idea what makes it tick. When OH tries to explain it to me, my eyes glaze over, and brain goes into shutdown mode. When we first met in the late sixties, he had use of a computer at work, and programmed my name onto rolls of computer tape! As an A level science student, I was suitably impressed!

Don't they all just compare the journey to get there? "Did you take the B123456?". "No we took the 2nd exit of the M5 and came via Snoddington" etc etc

I always think that the sign of a good film is when watching it you forget you know the ending

Apollo 13 was such an excellent film, in that the suspense was killing, despite everyone knowing how it would end!

I'd forgotten the Jazz Drives. A few of our PA's had those in the days before the use of servers.

@Escarpment FIL and BIL and quite a few acqaintances would do that route "conversation" every time we went there or they came to visit. Didn't stop them getting lost in Belgium tho - thought they knew better than my carefully typed instructions. Before Satnavs and mobiles.

Drove me rount the bend cos I'm sure "how are you, lovely to see you, what's new" were far more interesting.
