I can’t seem to conjure up any motivation today. Could get some paperwork done. Should get some housework done. Just can’t be bothered. Very cold wind plus nearby building work noise means gardening is not really appealing, though I ought to get some stuff in the green bin.

Hey ho! Maybe I’ll have an early lunch and crack open my Easter Egg!

@ViewAhead Thanks for the reminder about Green Bins - collection here tomorrow and it's only half full at the moment .
Enjoy your Easter egg - the dust and paperwork won't mind waiting

The chocolate infusion worked wonders. :blue thumb: Got my act together, walked to Sainsbury’s, bought chicken … and am now cooking it for the freezer, with the bones etc ready for bin day tomorrow, so these won’t sit festering for a fortnight!

Just read in my electronic news paper you have to leave your dandelions alone wherever they are in your garden, paths and drives as bees like them. No chance. Just another excuse for lazy gardeners. Exterminate, Exterminate, Exterminate.

That's alright I have more than enough to go round. Just send your pollinators down to me.
You have to admire the symmetry and the cheery bright yellow lighting up the dark areas of your garden and soul.
Clouds of dandelion seed drifting sunlit on the wind.

The taxonomy is also interesting, composed as it is of sub and microspecies; this is why you see so many different leaf, growth and flower forms. Many botanists treat the species as an aggregate, just like that other wonderful plant the bramble.

I have just confessed on another thread to liking lesser celadines. Deep breath…I’m also rather fond of dandelions :runforhills:

Got the plumber returning today. We've had a new bathroom basin in for three weeks, and already the water all runs out in less time than it takes me to shave.
Yes, I could replace the plug (and I did, and the problem is unresolved). So how is all the water disappearing?
The original plug was okay for nearly three weeks, and if a replacement plug doesn't resolve the issue, how is the water escaping?
I've never been good with plumbing issues. Plus, a new basin should be fine for longer than three weeks!!
As an aside, the water IS going down the drain, not onto the floor.

I think lesser celandines are pretty plants, dandelions have pretty flowers but the foliage isn't so attractive. Love daisies in a lawn too!

Hubby keeps complaining about my "dandies" - he almost dug them up. He's not really a gardener.

If people want some more exotic dandelions you could try the pink Taraxacum pseudoroseum, which has pink flowers, or Taraxacum albidum, which has white flowers. These come from Asia and have become more readily available here, so there must be a few dandelion enthusiasts around.

Plumbing is a mystery to us mere mortals, @Fourmerkland, which is why plumbers charge so much.

I fancy a trip to a GC today, but the traffic will be awful, the car park rammed, and the till area congested with folks buying enough to plant up a small estate, so maybe it would be better to be kind to my blood pressure and stay at home.

I think that’s a very wise choice @ViewAhead . OH and I went to SM earlier than normal this morning, for our weekly shop, to avoid the rush….bad move, everyone else did the same. It was heaving with people, full trolleys and music blaring out in the background. We weren’t there long thankfully. My( lack of) hearing went into overdrive.

@Fourmerkland Is the plug one that you twist something or press a lever to get it to drain, or the traditional ones on a chain? the 'captive' sort will drain very quickly if not sealing properly. An imperfection in the part which fits to the basin can cause it, or the screw beneath the plug being set too high and the plug itself not seating fully.
