@pete The Brexit vote was in 2016 so you're being a bit previous! In any case, why not have a joint EU force? It has more direct contact along its borders and more to fear from a Russian land grab so it makes sense. The old Eastern block countries who've joined the EU were also quick to join NATO which is an organisation that shares military power and expertise. Even Turkey is in NATO to keep the Russians from grabbing its territories on the Black Sea. @redstar his first 100 days have seen the economy tank, jobs lost, social and legal justice swept away, tourism drop, trade and diplomatic relations out the window and the USA lose respect abroad. Congratulations.
That's probably because they are terrified of being thrown out by Trump for Anti American behaviour if they dare to fly anything else.
This book apparently goes behind the scenes to Biden's inner circle to reveal the lengths they went to cover up for his dementia. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Original-S...zN8olxQa61clXaGGQqUBjbU&qid=1744565964&sr=8-1
The idea was bandied about for a long time, the EU wanted to create a military force for years. Only problem was no one wanted to put any money into it. We have relied in the US for years, even now there are US bases all over Europe.
I don't see Zelensky that way at all. I see a man trying, against enormous odds, to prevent a psychopathy dictator (aka Putin) grab Ukraine, subsume it into Russia and strip it of resources. I'm on Ukraine's side. If it falls, no place on earth is safe from a brutal takeover as megalomaniacal leaders will be emboldened.
@ViewAhead do you believe the medical report on Trump which claims he's in perfect health and weighs about 16 stone?
To be fair we in the UK don't fly too many flags either. I wouldn't mind seeing more union flags. Having just returned from a couple of weeks in Florida I saw there were flags of US, Ukraine, France and Germany flying about. Not just the US
I've not seen it, but I'd say very few men of his age and weight could be said to be in "good health". I'm puzzled as to why you are asking me though.
Whenever I see a flag flying in someone’s garden I always wonder what they are trying to tell me. If it’s the Union Jack, yes, thank you I do know where I am. I don’t need to be reminded. If it’s another flag, such as the Saltire, I feel it’s rather provocative. Why do you feel the need to go out of your way to tell me that you have your own flag? There is only one house near here that flies a flag in its garden and that is to tell people that they can buy a very nice variety of ice cream there.
I've seen all kinds of flags being flown in gardens for various events. I even see the jolly roger, scull and cross bones in one place. I'd like to see the England flag flown more often but I think that is considered provocative for some reason, even no10 flew the Union flag on St Georges day rather than the England one apparently.
What for things to get really bad. I just feel sorry for the US citizens at the bottom of the heap, now including all those Musk has had dismissed.
Down here you often see the Black and White cross of St Piran for Cornwall and the Green, White and Black St Petroc's cross for Devon. Apparently this year St George's day was April 28th not the 23rd Due to Easter. Although he's not particularly English and we have to share him with Portugal, Gozo, Georgia. Perhaps St Alban would be more appropriate or maybe Augustine or Cuthbert.
@KT53 I saw a copy online of the police report giving his height and weight when he was arrested and photographed for a felony last year. He is in fact shorter than he claims and also heavier so a mean machine but not lean.
@ViewAhead You mentioned the efforts made to cover up Biden's true medical history. I was simply then commenting that the official medical information about Trump is stretching credulity somewhat. @Obelix-Vendée The police obviously weren't using officially approved (ie Trump approved) tape measure and scales.
