Whaaattt?

I just saw this in today's paper and now see I missed the above post.

If you look in the dictionary under the word, Bumptious, this is the illustration you will find.



I thought the man, although brought up rich, was just stupid, arrogant and coarse. Now I think he's a bumptious a$$. How can anybody defend this type of disrespect for others' beliefs.

I do not prescribe to any organized religion. I live my life using my interpretation of good morals and ethics and think making fun of a recently passed pope is as nasty as it gets. I think this is as low as one can go!

He and Elon are probably having a laugh about their little creation. Frankenazi.

 

I am not religious either, but I would never dream of mocking another person’s beliefs. I agree he’s bumptious, but I think there’s more to it than that. There’s a nastiness in there too.

 

I agree @Tidemark ........ he may think it's amusing but there's certainly a problem when he sees it as fitting to make and then share this image. He really doesn't have a clue how to even behave as a decent human being never mind as a leading politician. His behaviour is becoming ever more bizarre and made worse by his love of the limelight.

 

Love Trump, that he is shaking up the world, and getting folks pissed. Good job my President. He acts just like a CEO should and not a lying politician.

 

He's definitely not a politician in the strict sense of representing the people @redstar. His Project 2025 road to tyranny policy which involves closing libraries, banning books, removing funding for Public Service broadcasting (ie not under the influence of money from advertisers) is definitely going to shake up access to education and information.

And he's not just cutting funding to information but to health care, disaster recovery, scientific research and development in the environment, health, industry, infrastructure - all essential problems for economic and social growth.

And do you really think all those national park wardens were lazy? No, he just wants them out so he can sell the land and its minerals to his cronies.

The list of his misdemeanours is endless.

 

I really can honestly say that I’m glad that I shall soon be dead. History repeats itself and I have been very lucky to have been born between the Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini lot and the Turnip, Poo Tin, Kim and Xi lot. It’s been a lovely life without too many worries and I’m glad that I don’t have any offspring who will have a very different life from mine.

 

Well I suppose at least that explains why some folk voted for him. They like what he does/plans to do, have the same mindset and so are happy to be under his thumb.
However odd it may seem, there are others who take a wider view of the world and who don't consider their main aim in life is simply to p**s others off.

 

I'm not really a Trump fan, and I see where you are all coming from but there seems to be an awful lot of "Mocking going on around here", of a democratically elected leader of another country.
Politics is not religion, and religion has started more wars than any other belief, but there are surely worse political regimes in the world, the only difference is most of those are ones that dont really affect us or the world in general.

 

“Democratically elected” got us Boris Johnson. How low can you go?

 

I think you just proved my point.

You really need to look at who is responsible.

Its the fact that nobody is looking after Joe Bloggs, he just pays while they throw his money at all kinds of crazy schemes that dont benefit the masses.

Then somebody comes along and says they will alter it.

So who do you think Joe Bloggs is going to vote for, the wishy washy status quo or the one who says he will change things?

I'd rather dissect British politics rather than run down some one else's, Starmer was going to change things, has he, no, is he on a path to, no.

So you can guess why the local elections have turned out like they have, people want solid politicians that look after their tax payers not ones who just pander to minorities all the time, at their expense.

Enter Trump and the like, it might be a while before it becomes evident as to what they change and how, but if something doesn't change soon the western world will be come the third world.

Your right about Education @Obelix-Vendée , and for years the Democrats have been working at dumbing down of Americans. example, stupid Department of Education, glad that is shut down. Hiding stuff about Covid. Hiding stuff about Joe. I can go on. Now that education funding is going to each unique state, the states can determine how/what they teach.

 

Do you think CEOs always tell the truth. You're right about Trump in one respect. Like a CEO he wants to screw as much out of the organisation/system as possible - for their own benefit.
