My granddaughter likes frozen fruit because she mixes it with her favourite brand of yoghurt, puts it in a container and takes it for part of her lunch. The frozen berries help keep it cool.

@Adam I Bakewell tart? Manchester tart? Queen of puddings?

OH says he wants a nice piece of white fish for dinner and a bottle of St Veran so I shall check the freezer before going out to do the weekly shop.

We all love lamb and roast veggies @Selleri so that's Sunday dinner sorted.

Fat cod fillets lurking in the freezer and new harvest Noirmoutier potatoes at the SM so that's dinner sorted with some broccoli and peas. Starwberries for pud.

I have never heard of Manchester tart @Obelix-Vendée. I will look it up.

Pizza and salad tonight as it's my lazy night, with a can of Guinness. In ASDA you can have pizzas made up with your choice of topping so we have quite a mix.

@cactus_girl James Martin has a good recipe on BBC Food.

Pastry case blind baked then topped with raspberry jam followed by a layer of dessicated coconut and then a layer of proper egg custard and finally topped with toasted cocont and optional fresh raspberries. Posher version of an old school pud.

I used to make Manchester tart when i was working at the Littlewoods store, didn't put coconut in it or on it and it wasn't real custard.

Seems Manchester tart was first created by Mrs Beeton. I never did have her cookery books. But I do remember having a simple version at school, but it didn't have a name. At our school they also fed us fudge tart made with powdered milk and it had grated chocolate on top. I did love that.

Spatchcocked a chicken, currently rubbed with Harrisa spices and salt, will chuck it on the bbq in about an hour. Jersey royals and maybe a salad to eat with it.

I didn't stay for school dinners, but I remember hearing about the chocolate pudding served with green (mint?) custard. What a visual delight that must have been when mashed up  Then there were tapioca and semolina puddings...:eeew:

At school dinners we were once served jam roly-poly and my portion had a Brillo pad stuck in it. I expect they had been scrubbing out the pans before. I didn't complain, but tipped the whole lot in the pig bin. I expect some poor pig ate it.

Back on subject - tonight we had a beef stir fry with bean sprouts on top and red wine. Then just some chocolate.
