I agree with @redstar that there may never be another Dem president. They are unelectable because they just can't get their act together and find a decent candidate. What were they doing from 2016 to 2020? They had one job in that time - find a potential president to run against Trump - and they came up with Biden. That shows the level of corruption behind the scenes and the stranglehold of cartels pulling the strings. Until they sort that out, they are doomed. Then, once in, they need to think of improving things for ordinary Americans and getting things done. Stop the pandering to lobby groups and the wealthy, stop the march of corporate American crushing everyone else underfoot, stop the financial industry fleecing everyone, stop the healthcare industry killing everyone with over medication and crippling costs, stop the food industry flooding the market with muck, etc, etc, etc.

It isn't rocket science. They just won't do it cos it doesn't suit the superrich.

Yup. He made his views on Trump clear not long before becoming Pope too.

 

Trump is all about looking good in his own eyes, and those of the ones sucking up to him and telling him how great he is. We know from his first term in office that those who don't agree with everything he says and does don't last long. I don't believe he cares whether what he does is right or wrong, all he wants is to be front and centre on the news.

 

I find it very hard to understand the motivation, especially at his age. I don't understand why anyone would want that much power and responsibility at any age really, when you could just be pottering in the garden instead!

 

I don’t think he has a choice. He’s ill.

 

Yes he does seem to satisfy all those points.

 

TBF, lots of leaders have those traits. Systems for bestowing leadership roles tend to favour that type of personality. That's a fault in the set-up really.

@shiney Not exactly pregnant in human terms but had you not noticed how his cheeks look more like pouches ? I think the Americans have actually elected a fish as president. One of those which take their live young into their mouths and then spew them out when they can fend for themselves.

Just saw this Trump administration considering suspending habeas corpus hopefully it's some of this fabled fake news being peddled by the Democrats. If not then the current US administration has gone beyond the pale and can longer be considered civilised.

 

It's already done that in many ways @NigelJ, including seizing a 2 yr old and sending her mother to Venezuela and her father to El Salvador with no legal proceddings. Neighbours and passersby screamed at the ICE staff to stop and justify but were thereatend themselves.

Apparently some black areas have started their own militias to resist such arrests and protect their own. That's going to go down well.

ICE have also arrested a mayor who was part of group seeking to inspect anew, public funded detention centre being run by a private group that contributes to Trump.

ICE sounds to me a lot like the Stasi and the GRU.

Yes, they have no leader. And they keep doing dumb stuff, saying stupid things. Like spending money flying down to Elsalvador to check on that illegal criminal , when none of them flew to help American citizens in North Carolina, or California. We keep saying go for it show us more toddler activity, just dig your hole deeper.
